Vivienne Westwood does ethical fashion in Africa
Ethical fashion is a new trend where designers use environmentally sustainable materials such as cotton, plastic bags, recycled metal and the like to create garments and accessories. Designers like Katharine Hamnett, Giorgio Armani and Lynda grose. Lately African made brands such as Sylvia Owori, LemLem and Suno are known to promote the ideals of ethical fashion. Recently Vivienne Westwood was in Kenya shooting her ethical fashion campaign.
The Kenyan based Ethical Fashion Programme supports the work of over 7,000 women who live in conditions of extreme poverty but who have a strong desire to improve their lives. Through the programme’s extensive network, some of the poorest people in the world now have access to a job and income that subsequently benefits the entire community.
